Tummy time Tips

Tummy time should be considered one of your baby’s first exercises. 

HOW? Place baby on their belly.

 

HOW LONG?

Newborn – 2 months: 30 minutes minimum per day during awake time

2-4 months: 45-90 minutes per day during awake time

4-6 months: 1-2 hours per day during awake time

6-8 months: as much as possible during awake time in tummy time or sitting/learning to sit. 

 

WHY?

1.       Develops their muscles

2.       Prevents flattening of the head (plagiocephaly)

3.       Boost motor skills

4.       Aid in relieving gas pain
