Chiropractic Care
What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractors are known for their ability to assess and correct spinal joint dysfunctions through their skill of adjusting. This is the intent of the chiropractic adjustment.
It may surprise a few people to learn that our intent is NOT to treat a disease, treat a condition, remove pain or any other unwanted symptoms. However, our intent is to restore the normal biomechanical function of your neuromusculoskeletal system through the chiropractic adjustment. This overall can help improve your body’s ability to function at its optimal level.
Your nervous system controls every function, cell, tissue and organ in your body. Your brain is protected within your skull as your spinal cord is protected by the 24 moveable vertebrae of your spinal column.
If any of the vertebrae becomes restricted or not moving properly, your body is not going to be able to perform at its full capability. This is what chiropractors call subluxations or the medical community recognizes as spinal joint dysfunction. These subluxations or spinal joint dysfunctions can cause, but not limited to:
Altered joint motion
Nerve irritation
Blood vessel compromise
Inflammation
Muscle spasm
Pain
Joint degeneration, i.e. arthritis
Disc bulging
Muscle weakness
Radiation of pain/numbness/tingling in shoulder, arm, fingers, or down leg
All of the Doctors of Chiropractic at The Chiropractic Place for Mommy and Me in Aledo, Texas are certified by the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners and use multiple styles of adjusting (i.e. diversified, drop-table, activator) to fit their patient’s individual needs. Some people prefer a lighter adjustment, while other would like something firmer. They are both able to offer what that person’s body responds to the best.
Dr. Michelle Parker has achieved the credentialing with being the only Board Certified Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and also an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in the State of Texas.
